Poem 196 – My Right is Private

Poem 196 – My Right is Private

Don’t force me if I care not

I have a right to protect beyond here

And respecting it will stop this rot

And keep my feelings bubbling like fresh air.

Keep your sermons to yourself

And respect my personal views.

Would you please yourself

And allow your ugly acts trend as news?

Tomorrow spits on your self-esteem

As you go about swimming in private waters.

I speak for the abuse team

Whose views and perceptions are in fetters.

My rights remain private

And I want them to speak forever

There’s a wind of change to placate

These monsters desecrating our sisters.

Rape is evil

And let no man tell me otherwise

Rape is not of the devil

And let no man ride in foolish thoughts to become wise.

My right is on a pedestal

And my words speak volume

My views will remain immortal –

Devoid of embellishment like the costume.

Well penned. This is beautiful and touching. Indeed our rights are private.
