Poem 124– Is DINO truly wrong?
Freedom is nothing
If one cannot walk without chains
To speak the truth,
Is to accept that a bunch of lies exist
& never will lies thrive in a country
Where questions are bound to be asked one day.
Freedom is the enemy of slavery
& oppression will fight to bury the truth
In a nation where lies have taken over
Without recourse to happenings before our face
Children dying in their numbers without help
Security has gone into coma
& in supine condition never to be relevant.
What is the crime of Dino?
Is it unlawful to demand for your right?
In a country where we swore to uphold the constitution?
Freedom becomes useless
When we walk around in chains
In democracy never to criticise
For criticism should be the oil that drives any government
& being grateful is the only thing needed in this period of low performance.
Campaign promises are still on the way
With much traffic I doubt if they will ever arrive.
Cost of living is on the high side
& I doubt if they will ever improve
There’s chaos & proliferation of camps all over
There’s incessant death across the nation without solution
Who will rescue us when they see nothing wrong with this
How can we be begging for our rights and peace
In a country where we voted at ease.
Is it wrong to speak the truth?
Should we continue to wallow in pain,
When there’s freedom of speech?
Should we allow ourselves to be cowed
For the sake of mere peanuts against the masses?
Is Dino truly wrong in his statement?
If this is not addressed, the elected would be the target.
Reason with me on this matter
Is Dino really wrong?
What is his offence
That would empty a whole division
While our Benue burn to the ground.
