Poem 179- Book of Blood (Chapter 2)
There’s a book we all sought for,
A book where impunity is grossly highlighted
A book unknown to many even the poor
Even though death rages and humans are ignited
There’s so much blood in the land
And none has been apprehended from the book
There’s death knell complementing the horrible band
Trumpeting from afar, as thousands struggle to get off this hook!
Why do people die every day
And no bold step to stop this common ritual?
Why do we still wake up with tales of death like yesterday
And lame excuses are given for deaths that are unnatural.
The grasses are no longer green,
But the chants for re-election is at apogee
There’s no room for any silly grin
When the souls of our wives and children rise like smoky tea.
Our suffrage is experiencing an attack
As blood flows like the Niger
There’s a terrestrial shark
Hunting for the blood of supposed brothers
Our freedom is expensive
Security of lives is just a fairy tale
Situations are unpalatable and offensive
But leadership crave for praises to sail…
There’s a book of blood
And events unfolding are odd.
